This role at Anchor Youth Space is designed for individuals from the African Nova Scotian community or equity-deserving groups. As a Youth Support Worker, you will employ trauma-informed and equity-focused methodologies to collaboratively assist young individuals. Your expertise will help evaluate and meet their individual goals, ensuring connection to vital mental health and wellness services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support youth in improving mental and physical well-being
• Facilitate referrals to both internal and external services
• Collaborate with team members on personalized care plans
• Assist youth in transitioning to adult services
• Lead caregiver and youth peer support initiatives
Requirements:
• Robust understanding of youth mental health care
• Experience in community support and advocacy
• Proven record of ethical practice and professionalism
• Knowledge of the social determinants of health
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion principles
