We are at the beginning of aglobal energy transformationof a scalenot seenin generations.A future low-cost, low-carbonelectricgrid, serving a world thatelectrifies everything,is within our reach.
The last remaining gap is breaking the link between electricity supplyand demand. Thelowest-cost, most sustainablesources ofenergytoday come from intermittent renewablegeneration;but our homes, businesses and industries needelectricity at the flick of a switch.
That gap can be closed by energy storage: Devices that store electricity when it is plentiful, thenprovide powerback to the grid when it is needed.Solutions, includingones usinglithium-ion batteries, are being deployed in massive numberstostart filling thisgap. But so far, none of those solutionshave proventhe abilityto deliverpowerany time, anywhere, over decades of service: The level of reliabilitywe’vecome to expect, and that the future grid will need.
This is the biggest challenge in energy today. Invinity is at the forefront of finding a solution. And we need you to help us deliver it.
Developed, manufacturedand delivered by our teams in Canada and the UK,Invinity’svanadium flow batteries(or “VFBs”)can be installed anywhere andconsistently deliver electricityasneeded over a service life exceeding30years.Moreover,Invinity’sVFBs are highly recyclable, don’trely on rare or conflict minerals, andwon’tcatch fire.
Invinityis a globalVFBleader, with over 190 megawatt-hours of its batteriesoperational or inconstructionforover82 projects across 15 countries - more than any otheremergingenergy storage provider. We’vendeployed the largest flow battery systems in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the UK. Along the waywe’veearned financial support fromthe UK Infrastructure Bank, the U.S. Department of Energy, and some of the world’s leading institutional investors.
This role willbe within our Manufacturing Engineering team, reporting to theProduction Engineering Manager.
You willsupporttheday to daymanufacturing and mechanical/electrical assembly of our innovative energy storage machines across multiple concurrent projects and provide the communications link to and from the Engineering team and the Operations team, so that products can be manufactured in practice from the designs provided.
