Enhance health and safety at the Seabird Island Band as a dedicated Health and Safety Officer. Contribute to a team-oriented culture that integrates Indigenous practices in safety initiatives.

In your position as Health and Safety Officer, you'll oversee the development and implementation of safety procedures at Sq'éwqel. This role requires working closely with staff to ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations while also promoting a culture that respects First Nations traditions. With a focus on training and community engagement, you will create an atmosphere where safety thrives.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular inspections and safety audits
• Collaborate with HR on injury management strategies




• Organize safety training tailored to seasonal risks
• Engage staff to foster a culture of safety
• Maintain accurate safety documentation

Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
• At least 5 years of industry experience
• Background in health and safety program implementation
• Certification in Incident Command is a plus
• Willingness to maintain open communication with the team
