Take the lead in youth innovation efforts focused on Indigenous languages as the Youth Innovation Lead in Ottawa. This full time role emphasizes leadership, engagement, and cultural collaboration.
You will report to the Connection Hub Manager, providing strategic direction for initiatives that elevate Indigenous youth’s voices and needs. This position is essential for fostering connections with communities, partners, and stakeholders to ensure a focused approach on language revitalization. You will also manage the impact assessment of youth-centered projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Spearhead development of youth-led projects and initiatives
• Cultivate meaningful relationships with Indigenous youth communities
• Facilitate the formation of a youth advisory council
• Encourage innovation and collaboration among youth
• Assess impacts of youth-led programs on language preservation
Requirements:
• Degree in Indigenous studies or similar field
• 3-5 years’ experience with Indigenous youth organizations
• Strong outreach and engagement skills
• In-depth knowledge of Indigenous governance
• Excellent interpersonal and project management skills
