We are building a talent pipeline for upcoming Data Governance Specialist opportunities for enterprise clients across various industries. This rolewill be responsible for establishing and advancing data governance practices that ensure enterprise data is trusted, secure, accessible, and aligned with business objectives.
The successful candidate will work closely with business leaders, data owners, data stewards, architects, analysts, and technology teams to develop governance frameworks, improve data quality, and support effective data-driven decision-making.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE: Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and processes.
Establish and support data stewardship programs and data ownership models.
Define governance controls for data quality, metadata, master data, lineage, privacy, and compliance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address data quality issues and governance gaps.
Develop and maintain business glossaries, data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation.
Facilitate governance councils, stakeholder workshops, and governance-related communications.
Monitor adherence to governance policies and recommend corrective actions where required.
Support data privacy, security, retention, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
Partner with data architects, engineers, analysts, and business teams to embed governance practices into projects and solutions.
Develop metrics, dashboards, and reports to measure governance effectiveness and data quality.
Promote data literacy and best practices across the organization.
WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU'LL NEED TO DO THE JOB: 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and best practices.
Experience with data quality management, metadata management, data lineage, and master data management.
Knowledge of data privacy, security, and compliance requirements.
Experience working with enterprise data platforms and reporting environments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Experience collaborating with both business and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications Experience implementing or supporting enterprise data governance programs.
Hands-on experience with data governance and metadata management tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Informatica, or Alation.
Experience with Microsoft Purview, including data cataloging, data lineage, data classification, compliance, and governance capabilities, is considered a strong asset.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
Understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, analytics, and business intelligence concepts.
Experience working in Agile environments.
Certifications such as CDMP, DAMA-DMBOK, Microsoft Data Certifications, or TOGAF are considered assets.
