Job Title: General Accountant
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Salary: $60,000

Overview: We are currently recruiting on behalf of an organization in the Toronto area within the consumer goods sector seeking a General Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant, this role is ideal for a proactive team player who takes ownership of their work, asks thoughtful questions, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key operational role handling day-to-day data entry, core bookkeeping duties, and high-volume vendor and customer communications.
Key Responsibilities
Execute daily transactional accounting activities, including accurate data entry, customer invoicing, and vendor bill processing
Conduct daily bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure financial records are current
Manage the general accounting email inbox, responding promptly to internal and external inquiries
Assist with month-end routines and prepare high-level GST/HST sales tax reporting
Maintain clean audit trails and accurate master data within the NetSuite ERP system
Partner closely with the Senior Accountant to resolve discrepancies and streamline operational workflows
Qualifications
2-4 years of practical accounting experience, ideally within consumer goods, retail,
or distribution
Hands-on experience using NetSuite or a similar cloud-based ERP system
Solid understanding of core AP/AR processes, basic ledger mechanics, and high-level GST/HST compliance
Inquisitive mindset with a strong sense of personal ownership and high attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a positive, service-oriented attitude
Compensation
$60,000 annually, plus advantages package
