Oxford Learning Oakville South is currently seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for our learning centre. This position is ideal for individuals who love working with students, enjoy numbers and equations, and are passionate about helping others build their skills in math and science.
Tutor‑teachers at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre‑planned. Applicants will receive full training in our proprietary philosophy and methods.
Position Requirements
All teacher‑tutors work during after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm–8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (9:00 am–1:00 pm). Commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred; continuing through summer is even better. This role is in‑person and requires commuting to the location. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Teaching certification is an asset.
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math including Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Vectors, as well as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Experience
- Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 9‑12 (or equivalent) level.
- Strong English written and oral communication skills.
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
Responsibilities
- Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
- Teach online and in‑person.
- Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Fill in post‑lesson notes.
- Complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and skilled manner at all times.

Job Type & Compensation
Part‑time. Salary: $18–$20 per hour.
Schedule
