Job Summary:
Determine the most effective method of shipment by utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, rates, and routes
Ensure all documents are prepared and organized prior to the truck arrival
Maintain the integrity of the shipping and receiving schedules
Ensure all Customer and regulatory requirements are adhered to
Immediate communication of all exceptions for Customer on time delivery or otherwise to the appropriate salesperson
Ensure all back orders are released and issued with appropriate material incoming documents
Maintain inventory of shipping materials
Coordinate the timely return of materials though the MRA process
Coordinate inter-branch material transfers
Route local freight requirements onto scheduled daily preloads
Point of contact for Sales requests with regards to order status, changes and/or deletions
Organize direct supplier to customer shipments, ensuring next day proof of delivery is attained
Invoice shipped orders, ensuring status is maintained throughout cycle
Report on late orders and daily preload percentage
Organize documents as required for furtherance to other department
File and maintain records as required
Time stamps all inbound and outbound driver records
Follow all Heath, Safety, Quality and Company policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
Previous experience in an administrative or coordinator role supporting business
Experience working within a logistics or dispatch position, is an asset
Knowledge of City of Winnipeg and Rural Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta
Effective communication skills and problem-solving abilities
Strong time management and organizational skills (multi-task)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, is required
Metals industry product knowledge, is an asset
Experience with AS400-based ERP systems and trucking dispatch software would be an asset
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm
