Join the BC SPCA as a Paralegal dedicated to Animal Protection. In this full-time role, you will manage legal disputes with a adaptable hybrid work model available.
The successful candidate will report to Legal Counsel and focus on the management of animal protection files. Key tasks include organizing evidence, preparing case summaries, and assisting with legal documentation for appeals. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure animal welfare needs are met throughout legal proceedings, making an impactful contribution to the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Handle disclosure and case summary preparations
• Organize materials for the Farm Industry Review Board
• Manage timelines for animal care and welfare
• Oversee all costs and documentation associated with cases
• Conduct reviews and support development of policies
Requirements:
• Completion of Paralegal certification with substantial experience
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office and database management
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• High attention to detail and confidentiality
• Familiarity with diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation principles
