The Planning, Development & Real Estate Department seeks an Auxiliary Plan Checker 2 to conduct thorough reviews of intricate building projects. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to address plan deficiencies and provide them with insights on the BC Building Code and municipal bylaws. Your role will also include training junior staff in plan checking and occasionally inspecting minor projects for compliance with city standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct plan reviews for larger, complex developments
• Communicate and resolve non-conformance issues with stakeholders




• Mentor and train plan checking personnel
• Inspect minor permitted jobs for regulatory adherence
• Ensure compliance with building codes and local regulations

Requirements:
• Diploma of Technology in Building or similar
• Experience in municipal plan checking
• BOABC Level III valid or enrolled in BOIT
• Knowledgeable in relevant bylaws and acts
• Competent with plan review technology and MS Office tools
