Vehicle Equipment Supply Service Technician I
As a Vehicle Equipment Supplies Service Technician (VESST), you will assist with daily fleet maintenance activities and coordinate the movement of vehicles to and from vendors.You will ensure that spare vehicles are clean, fully equipped, and supplied as required in accordance with established inventory standards and regulations.In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection and repair of equipment (e.g., power cots, power loads, suction units). You will prioritize, schedule, and complete vehicle and medical equipment inspections, and engage with approved vendors as required.As a VESST, you may also be required to assist with direct patient contact and support medical care, as well as respond to disasters or large-scale incidents within Alberta as needed.This position may require extensive standing, twisting, and other physical demands to perform job duties.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) approved program.Active registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP).Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).Must hold a valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six (6) demerits.Proof of successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test, verified by a certificate from Lifemark, is required for all applicants who do not currently hold a clinical position (including VESST, Clinical Educator, EMR, PCP, ACP, and Community Paramedic roles). The F.A.R.E. test must be completed within six (6) months of the application date. Verification of results may be conducted through Lifemark. Additional Required Qualifications:
Candidate may be required to travel, including overnight travel out of town.



Candidate must be able to be around emergency situations with sick or injured patients and must be able to treat them. Candidate must be able to frequently lift heavy items. Candidate will be around emergency rooms in hospitals and exposed to bodily fluids from trauma.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with a strong computer literacy, mechanical background, warehouse and supply chain management experience, and vehicle detailing experience. Preference will be given to candidate with minimum 6 months’ experience using and managing the Fleet Software, Holman, Teams and FEMS. Previous experience with a Fleet Board. Previous experience with Stryker Power lift and load.
