Job Description
This is a vital role in ensuring MFS can calculate independent Net Asset Values of investment funds. A Portfolio Operations (PO) Associate will operate and oversee reconciliation and NAV review technology to deliver a full reconciled gross NetAsset Value to client operations teams or clients, including cash, positions, dividend & interest reconciliations.
An PO Associate will have a strong understanding of what drives the value of an investment fund, the types of products ittrades and the nature of day-to-day operations between an investment fund and its counterparties, all alongside a keeninterest in learning new technologies and skills
Ensure client transaction processing is complete,
corporate actions have been booked correctly & security pricing is accurate.
Review pricing of portfolios, confirming securities such as equities, options, futures, bonds & OTC derivatives are pricedcorrectly. Gather security prices from vendors such as Bloomberg & ICE when necessary.
Operate and oversee reconciliation technology to deliver Investment Manager positions and profit & loss reconciliations.
Perform NAV reviews, investigating what is causing changes in NAV from prior period.
Support the new client onboarding processes.
Liaise with custodians, brokers and other counterparties on an ongoing basis for break resolutions and process
improvements.
Additional responsibilities may include oversight of reconciliation and data transmission technology.
Provide great client service to all our clients be they internal or external.
Respond to queries from clients in a timely and effective manner.
Ensure client SLAs are strictly adhered to.
Qualifications
University degree in Computer Science, Math, Finance, Accounting or an equivalent combination of education.
Preference will be given to candidates who have one to two years of experience within the investor services or assetmanagement industry.
