IT Business Analyst

Pay Rate: $48.50/hour, depending on experience

Contract Length: 25 weeks

Location: Lower Mainland, British Columbia (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)

Schedule: 5 days/week or 10/4 rotation

Raise is currently hiring an IT Business Analyst on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT Business Analyst to support technology projects, business process improvements, requirements gathering, testing, and stakeholder engagement within a complex enterprise setting. Our client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description
The IT Business Analyst will support small to medium-sized technology projects by gathering and documenting business requirements, developing high-quality project documentation, supporting testing activities, and working closely with business and technical stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working across multiple teams, managing competing priorities, and translating business needs into clear technology requirements and actionable deliverables.

Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements

Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements.

Develop Business Requirements, Functional and Non-Functional Requirements, Data Requirements, Use Cases, Business Scenarios, and Functional Specifications.

Facilitate stakeholder workshops, interviews, and working sessions.

Ensure requirements are clearly understood by technical and business teams.

Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.

Process Analysis & Documentation

Develop process maps, workflow diagrams, and process designs.

Identify process gaps and opportunities for improvement.

Prepare governance documents and Process Impact Assessments.





Maintain project documentation and coordinate stakeholder reviews, approvals, and sign-offs.

Document meeting outcomes and follow up on action items.

Testing & Implementation Support

Support development of Test Plans, Test Scenarios, Test Scripts, and Test Reports.

Participate in UAT and other testing activities to validate business requirements.

Provide ongoing clarification to development, UX, training, and testing teams.

Support data migration and system interface activities.

Assist with project rollout, transition, and sustainment activities.

Project & Stakeholder Support

Support Project Managers with planning and coordination activities.

Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and external stakeholders.

Support change management, stakeholder analysis, communications, and training activities.

Help ensure project deliverables are completed on time and meet quality requirements.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting small to medium-sized technology projects.

Experience in a complex enterprise environment.

Strong experience gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements.

Experience with process mapping, workflow analysis, and business process improvement.

Experience supporting testing, including UAT and requirements traceability.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with business and technical stakeholders.





Experience using Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-enabled productivity tools to support requirements gathering, documentation, analysis, and communications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the utility, energy, public sector, or other regulated industries.

Familiarity with enterprise applications, data integrations, and digital transformation initiatives.

Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or Confluence.

Experience with Power BI or other data analysis/reporting tools.

Business Analysis certification such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or equivalent.

Experience supporting change management, training, and business readiness activities.

Familiarity with structured project delivery methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.

Education and Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
