Canada Post is recruiting for dependable, organized individuals to deliver mail on an on-call basis to rural and suburban communities in Green Valley, ON. Job Responsibilities: Sort, collect, and deliver mail items in a safe and timely manner
Acquire and maintain knowledge of local infrastructure including roads, customers, and delivery receptacles
Ensure mail is safely secured in your possession at all times
Process various Canada Post products and services (Change of Address Notification, Damaged Mail, Items Delivered Bill, and others)
Wear Canada Post identification while on delivery and ensure its visibility while delivering and collecting mail
Lift and carry items up to 50 lb (22.7 kg)
Operate a motor vehicle in all kinds of weather and traffic conditions
Maintain required automobile liability insurance and notify your insurance company of vehicle use for Canada Post deliveries
Qualifications: Satisfactory secure driving record (driver's abstract required)
Valid permanent provincial driver's license — Class 5 or G
Experience in making deliveries and operating a motor vehicle in all kinds of weather and traffic conditions
Mandatory Vehicle Requirements: Minimum cargo capacity of 50 cu ft (1,415 litres)
Automatic transmission
Power windows
Metal roof-top and accessory power outlet to accommodate a Canada Post sign and flashing light
Middle of passenger window sill between 38" and 45" from the ground, maximum interior width of 56"
Fifth door/hatchback preferred
Other Information: Preference given to applicants residing within 75 km of the Green Valley Post Office. Preference will also be given to Indigenous People (First Nations, Metis or Inuit) or Persons with disabilities as a special measure employment equity initiative. Language requirement: English or French Essential.
Valid permanent provincial driver's licence (Class 5 or G), satisfactory safe driving record (driver's abstract required), experience making deliveries and operating a motor vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions. Personal vehicle must meet Canada Post cargo and safety specifications.
