We’re looking for motivated Electrical Apprentices who are eager to develop their trade, gain hands‑on experience, and work alongside experienced Journeyperson Electricians on meaningful infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Do
As an Electrical Apprentice, you will support the installation of electrical and underground utility infrastructure, including airfield electrical lighting, distribution systems, and street lighting projects throughout the Edmonton area.

Working under the guidance of Journeyperson Electricians, you’ll gain valuable field experience while contributing to the successful completion of critical infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities Include:

Assisting with the installation of electrical and underground utility infrastructure

Performing aerial work using bucket trucks to exchange and rewire ballasts

Assisting with the installation of street lighting systems and associated infrastructure

Supporting concrete foundation installations for street lighting poles and structures

Assisting with the termination of electrical panels and street lighting systems

Supporting troubleshooting and isolation of electrical circuits and cables

Building and installing temporary power panels

Assisting with the assembly and installation of electrical cabinets and related equipment

Installing electrical equipment on structures and other project infrastructure

Supporting site setup, cleanup, and material handling activities

Following all company safety policies, procedures, and hazard assessments





Performing other related duties as required

The Reality

Work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year

Perform physically demanding work including lifting, kneeling, crouching, bending, and walking

Work at heights using bucket trucks and aerial equipment

Work 8-10 hour shifts, up to 5-6 days per week during peak construction periods

Travel within the Edmonton region and surrounding area as required

Learn and apply safe work practices in active construction environments

Take initiative and continuously develop your trade knowledge and skills

What You Bring
Required Qualifications

Registered Electrical Apprentice (2nd or 3rd Year)

Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence

Reliable transportation

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, and perform physical work throughout the day

Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Strong work ethic and positive attitude

Commitment to safety and continuous learning





Assets That Will Help You Stand Out
While not required, we’d love to hear from candidates who have:

Street lighting installation experience or willingness to learn!

Previous experience working in electrical construction

Experience operating bucket trucks or aerial work platforms

Underground utility construction experience

Experience with electrical troubleshooting and testing

Ground Disturbance Level II Certification

Standard First Aid & CPR Certification

CSTS 2020 Certification

Experience working in municipal, transportation, or infrastructure projects

Compensation
Competitive Hourly Wage
Compensation will be based on apprenticeship level, experience, qualifications, and demonstrated industry expertise.
