SENIOR QA SPECIALIST / SYSTEMS TESTER (Health – 5 Resources Required – Kingston)

Engagement Type: Contract

Number of Resources required: 5

Term: 2026-09-15 to 2027-03-31 with 6-month extension available (up to 12-month contract)

Rate (Per Day): Up to $565.50 per diem (equivalent to $78.00/hour) / Commensurate with related experience and market competitiveness

Hours per day: 7.25

Tri-global Solutions Group Inc. is seeking five (5) Senior QA Specialists / Systems Testers to join our talented Service Delivery team at Health Services Cluster, Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement (Ontario Public Service).

WORK MODEL: The successful candidate is required to fully onsite, 5 days per week onsite at 5700 Yonge St., Toronto, Ontario or 49 Places D’Armes, Kingston, Ontario.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
Five (5) requested testing FFS resources (Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist will provide system testing expertise in support of business requirements.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Responsibilities:

Provides advice on the testing strategy, test plans, the selection of testing tools, and the identification of resources required for testing

Plans and organizes testing efforts for large systems in Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-Graphical User Interface (GUI) environments, including the execution of systems integration tests, specialized tests, and user acceptance testing (e.g., stress tests)

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the development of test plans, test scripts and test cases and executing these against the various components. The tester will work with the testing lead and IT lead of each project as well as the project team members in the analysis, design, development, implementation and ongoing support of the required systems

Executes functional, integration, system, and regression tests.

Validates that the system behaves as expected under various conditions.

Identifies, document, and track software defects using tools like Azure DevOps.

Works closely with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.

Develops and maintains automated test scripts using tools like Micro Focus, OpenText™ UFT, Selenium, TestComplete, or Postman.

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Conduct performance, stress, and load testing to ensure the system can handle expected user traffic and data volumes.

Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards.

Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to clarify requirements and ensure quality.

Participate in Agile ceremonies like sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Maintain detailed documentation of test results, test coverage, and quality metrics.

Provide input for user manuals and release notes.





Ensure testing processes comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

General Skills:

Experience in planning, organizing and implementing testing efforts at the specified experience level

Knowledge of structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications

Knowledge and experience in the use of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and data query tools to aid in the development of test cases

Knowledge and experience in the use of automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platforms

Experience executing functional tests, non-functional tests and systems level integration tests

Experience supporting user acceptance testing and participating in UAT activities

Experience with quality assurance principles, practices, tools and structured methodologies

Experience creating testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases and test data for various types and phases of testing, including technical and business functional validation

Experience in quality assurance and testing, including unit testing, integration testing, load testing, performance testing, etc.

Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle

Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; organizational, creativity and perseverance skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills

A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines

Knowledge of one or more automated testing tools

Knowledge of system, integration, regression, and acceptance testing.

Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.

Demonstrated ability to write clear, comprehensive test cases and execute them effectively.

Desirable Skills:

Knowledge and experience in at least one programming language

Experience in the use of information retrieval packages

Knowledge and understanding of testing methods in an object-oriented environment

Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.

Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards

Experience planning and organizing testing efforts for both large and small systems

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS (Candidates must meet all requirements below)

Demonstrated system testing expertise through the development of automated test scripts, the creation and execution of complex test plans and the coordination of defects throughout the testing lifecycle

Expertise in creating a variety of test data using automated test tools (e.g. SOAP UI, Swagger, Postman) to assist both functional and regression testing during an iteration





Experience creating and managing project defects based on priority and severity

RESUME EVALUATION CRITERIA (Candidates must ensure resume includes demonstration of the following experience/skillsets)
Testing/QA Skills: (40%)

Experience following a clearly defined test strategy

Demonstrated system testing expertise through the development of automated test scripts, the creation and execution of complex test plans and the coordination of defects throughout the testing lifecycle

Experience providing assistance to the DADS IT Project Manager and the IDMS Testing Lead with issues and scope management

Experience assisting in the analysis and definition of testing scope during an iteration

Experience providing input to project test strategy

Experience planning and leading peer reviews for various test artefacts

Experience reporting test results and coordinating defects through the testing lifecycle of a project

Experience leading and/or participating in the defect review process on a regular basis

Experience reviewing test results of both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Understanding of accessibility regulations and standards

Technical Skills: (40%)

Experience with all test activities including functional, integration and regression testing of Web application components and reports

Experience creating entry and exit criteria for the system testing effort

Experience in creating and executing test plans for assigned testing areas including maintenance of test cases

Expertise in creating a variety of test data using automated test tools (e.g. SOAP UI, Swagger, Postman) to assist both functional and regression testing during an iteration

Experience performing database verification using SQL in an Oracle environment

Experience creating and managing project defects based on priority and severity

Experience assisting with user acceptance testing, both data creation and test execution

Knowledge of how to enter defects in industry standard defect tracking tools and following defects throughout the test life cycle

Knowledge of standards for health care data exchange, in particular Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR)

General: (20%)
