As an integral member of the Finance Team, the Senior Accountant is an experienced, business-minded professional with an entrepreneurial spirit. We are looking for someone to oversee and manage financial reporting of our accounting department reporting to our SVP of Finance.
What You’ll Do
Meet all monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines, including reconciliations, reporting and financial analysis, and year-end reporting.
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and complete month-end financial close process for all entities assigned.
Ownership of chart of accounts and general ledger; Review GL to ensure appropriate coding.
Monitor and control cash flow in multiple accounts.
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payables for multiple companies.
Process intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
Maintain HST accounts and regular filing requirements.
Coordinate the year-end financial statement review process.
Deliver analysis and reports as required to senior management.
Complies with federal, provincial, and municipal legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
What you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma with specialization in accounting
CPA designation completed or working towards completion
4-6 years’ experience in full cycle accounting role or 3 years in a public accounting at a national accounting firm.
Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, work under pressure, and adapt to a quick-paced changing environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to learn quickly and self-motivate while working independently and/or collaborating as part of a team.
QuickBooks Online experience required; Strong excel sills required
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
Results-driven, comfortable working in in a fast-paced environment, understand sense of urgency in delivering month-end results and other deliverables.
