Become a vital part of patient care at Nova Scotia Health as a Registered Pharmacy Technician at St. Martha's Regional Hospital. This permanent full-time role emphasizes medication safety and preparation under pharmacist supervision.
In this position, reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, you will be central to delivering exceptional pharmacy services. Your responsibilities include compounding sterile and non-sterile medications, dispensing drugs for both inpatients and outpatients, and engaging in vital inventory control. This role offers you the chance to work closely with automation systems, participate in quality programs, and contribute to patient safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare, package, and dispense medications safely
• Compound sterile and non-sterile dosage forms
• Conduct medication reconciliation and inventory control
• Participate in quality assurance and patient safety initiatives
• Prepare chemotherapy doses and distribute narcotics
Requirements:
• Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
• Licensure in Nova Scotia as a Pharmacy Technician required
• BLS certification and pharmacy experience preferred
• Proficiency in medication distribution systems and technology
• Valuable problem-solving skills and attention to detail
