Salary Range: $26.00 To $30.00 Hourly

Position: Bilingual (French) Site Coordinator, Early Years Educator(RECE)

Reports to: Supervisor, EarlyON

Salary: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Hours: 35 hours per week (permanent Fulltime)

Job Summary
The Bilingual Site Coordinator, Early Years Educator (RECE) is responsible for delivering high quality play-based early learning programs to children (age birth - 6) and their caregivers.

Duties and Responsibilities
Site Coordination and Program Delivery* – in French/English

Develop and implement child-directed, quality early learning activities using the ELECT curriculum, the Four Foundations of Learning (How Does Learning Happen) and BridgeWay’s program standardizations for children 0 – 6 years of age and their parents/caregivers

Use various techniques including coaching, modeling, active listening, observing, questioning, demonstrating and supporting educators, students

Prepare the monthly program schedule and plan special guests for Francophone and English-speaking families

Provide monthly report to Supervisor

Providing tasks for volunteer and student placements

Conduct meetings with site staff to reflect, plan and update programs

Set up and set down of room, where required

Liase with with Conseil scolaire Viamonde administrators to address site needs, ensuring appropriate support is provided as required

Laundry, where required

Cleaning of toys

Act as in office support for new staff and clients who seek guidance navigating the BridgeWay website, OCCMS, or online registration

Track program registration and attendance levels and flag programs to the Communications team for additional promotion

Communicate areas of concern around attendance

Liaise with Manager, Pedagogy to conduct program evaluations and participate in CQI





Liaise with Manager of Pedagogy for new initiatives in program planning and development

Inventory supplies and place orders with Program Support Coordinator

May supervise a student and or a volunteer

Promotion

Post all flyers, brochures, posted materials at sites for Francophone families

Ensure bulletin boards, TV screens, and other physical displays reflect current promotions and brand standards

Submit requests for new or replenished promotional materials as needed

Notify Supervisor and Facilities Manager of any malfunctioning technology at the site (TV, computer)

Provide site tours to parents, funders, etc.

Contribute ideas for marketing campaigns or materials that reflect community insights

Collect stories and successes from families and share with Manager, Pedagogy and communications for celebratory purposes

Track and share informal insights about how new families heard about BridgeWay (e.g., referral, social media, word of mouth).

Assist in the creation of French communications for the agency (i.e. flyers, resources, etc.)

Health and Safety

Ensure programs and sites are welcoming, inclusive, safe and clean for families

Conduct health and safety inspections, conduct fire drills

Safe storage of materials

Networking

Participate on committees, in meetings and attend training sessions both on-site and off-site as directed by the Manager, Pedagogy or Director, Programs and Partnerships

Ensure promotion of BridgeWay Family Centre programs/services





Work with French Program Specialist and Communications team to find Francophone networks for networking/information sharing

Other

Act as a fund development advocate by following expectation of the agency’s Fund Development Plan

Respond to any additional funder requirements as directed by management

Participate in outreach events as determined by the Supervisor and or Manager, particularly those targeted to the Francophone community

Keep informed by reading staff newsletters, agency notices as well as partner notices

Attend bingo events where requested

Attend trainings as requested

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Degree/diploma in Early Childhood Education or approved equivalency;

RECE in good standing with the College of ECE

Minimum level A or B required for oral/written French

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a related field

Intermediate First Aid/CPR B or C

Self-motivated, takes initiative and works well within a team environment

Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

Ability to work some flexible hours

Additional language(s) an asset

Must be able to travel regularly between multiple sites for programs, outreach, and meetings (required)
