Overview The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate records of inventory. This position reports to the Inventory Control Manager. Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities
Perform daily and weekly cycle counts in accordance with company and client requirements.
Conduct inventory counts across warehouse locations and assist with investigating inventory discrepancies and variances.
Reconcile cycle counts counts against system records and process authorized inventory adjustments when required.
Open, perform, and complete cycle counts and related inventory transactions within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Analyze inventory discrepancies and assist in identifying trends and potential root causes of recurring inventory issues.
Participate in annual physical inventories and other scheduled inventory activities.
Hold and release inventory in accordance with client requests and established procedures.
Count and process in-house damaged inventory and ensure accurate system updates.
Monitor and verify product expiry dates as required.
Use computers, RF scanners, and other warehouse equipment to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently.
Safely operate Material Handling Equipment (for example forklift, order picker) in accordance with company policies and training requirements.
Demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new systems, technology, and operational processes.
Maintain accurate inventory records and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Work flexible shifts as required by operational and customer needs.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications Qualifications
Previous warehouse experience and knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is preferred.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new systems, technology, and processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate inventory discrepancies and variances.
Solid organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Experience operating, or willingness to learn to operate, Material Handling Equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers.
Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment with varying noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperatures.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, potentially 8 to 10 hours per day.
Comfortable working at heights and able to safely access all required areas of the facility.
The base hourly pay rate for this posting is $22.00. The base hourly pay range is a guideline to provide our employees with market competitive pay, while allowing for flexibility to recognize and reward various levels of expertise, performance and tenure. The range listed is just one component of NFI's total compensation package for employees.
