Environmental Consultant / Spill Responder
Location: Edmonton, AB
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Primarily field-based, with overtime and after-hours response as required

Ambipar Response Canada Inc. provides environmental emergency response, spill response, remediation, and environmental consulting services across Western Canada. Our teams support clients with environmental projects and emergency response activities throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.
Position Overview
We are looking for an Environmental Consultant / Spill Responder to join our Environmental Spill Response team in Edmonton.
This is a primarily field-based position, with approximately 70-80% of the work performed in the field. The role involves travel throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, and northeastern British Columbia.
The successful candidate will support spill response, environmental assessment, sampling, documentation, remediation, and related consulting activities. Due to the nature of emergency response work, flexibility to respond outside regular business hours may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to environmental incidents and support spill response activities
Assist with spill containment, recovery, cleanup, and site assessment
Coordinate with contractors, clients, and other project personnel as required
Conduct soil, water, and other environmental sampling
Collect and document field data and observations
Prepare daily field reports and assist with technical reports
Maintain accurate project records and documentation
Communicate project updates and field findings to supervisors and project teams
Support project schedules, budgets, and other project objectives
Follow company health and safety procedures and applicable environmental regulations
Work safely in outdoor, remote, and changing field conditions
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Environmental Science or a related discipline
Valid Class 5 driver's license and acceptable driving record
Experience working in a safety-focused environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Positive organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and remote locations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of environmental regulations and industry practices is an asset
Experience with environmental sampling, spill response, remediation, or consulting is an asset
Experience interpreting environmental data is an asset

Bear Awareness
Incident Command System (ICS)
Spill Response or Emergency Management training
Professional designation or eligibility for designation as a Biologist, Agrologist, Forester, Geoscientist, Chemist, Engineer, or Technologist is considered an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
This is an hourly position with overtime opportunities. Due to the emergency response nature of the role, additional hours may be required and may provide opportunities for overtime.
