Oxford Learning Brooklin is seeking part‑time teachers to tutor high‑school math and science students (Grades 9‑12) in an in‑person setting. Applicants must be able to commute to the Brooklin location; this is not an online role.
Employment type: Part‑time. Pay: $18.00–$20.00 per hour.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Teaching or tutoring experience for grades 9‑12.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Robust math skills and ability to guide student understanding.
- Ability to multitask with up to three students at a time.
- Teaching certification a plus.
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Vulnerable sector screening mandatory.
Schedule
- Mon‑Thu 3:00 pm–7:00 pm (twice per week)
- Sat 9:00 am–12:00 pm (some days)
- Commitment through the end of the term in June is preferred; summer continuation is even better.
Responsibilities
- Teach up to three students at a time at different levels.
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times.
- Teach in‑person.
