Lead Overhead Crane Technician

$40-$50/hour

THE ROLE
As a Lead Overhead Crane Technician, you will be working at various manufacturing and customer sites throughout the Aylmer, Sarnia, and Windsor regions, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing overhead cranes and related equipment.
This is a great permanent opportunity for an experienced Crane Technician who enjoys working independently, travelling to different customer sites, and taking the lead on service and repair work. You will be provided with a company work truck to travel to customer locations to perform inspections, repairs, preventative maintenance, installations, and respond to breakdown calls.
We are looking for someone with 3-5+ years of overhead crane service experience and solid electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. An Electrical 309A/442A or Mechanical 433A licence would be considered a strong asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot and inspect overhead crane equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
Perform crane inspections, repairs, installations, and respond to breakdown calls
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components of overhead cranes
Inspect hoists, cranes, systems, chain falls, and pullers
Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues and determine appropriate repairs
Perform preventative maintenance and service work at customer locations
Order parts and maintain required inventory
Complete maintenance reports, inspection documentation, and service records
Follow all company and customer safety policies and procedures
Complete customer-specific safety orientations and training as required
Perform welding when required based on experience
REQUIREMENTS
3-5+ years of experience working as an Overhead Crane Technician or Service Technician
Strong hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience
309A or 442A Electrical Licence is considered a robust asset
433A Millwright/Mechanical Licence is considered an asset
Experience servicing and repairing overhead cranes, hoists, and related material handling equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude and critical-thinking skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Comfortable working independently at customer sites
Able to work safely at heights and in elevated areas
