( Ekwaamjigenang Children's Centre (ECC) and Maawdoo Maajaamin Child Care (MMCC) | Full-Time, Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and community-minded Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) for Ekwaamjigenang Children's Centre (ECC) and Maawdoo Maajaamin Child Care (MMCC) who will play a vital role in delivering a safe, inclusive, and culturally enriched learning environment for young children . This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about early childhood development and committed to making a meaningful impact within the MCFN community.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Deliver a secure, developmentally appropriate childcare program in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014

Plan and implement engaging, inclusive programming that supports children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development

Integrate Anishinaabe cultural teachings, language, and land-based learning into daily routines

Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment with proper supervision of children at all times

Build solid, respectful relationships with children, families, colleagues, and community partners

Document and communicate children's development through pedagogical tools (e.g., observations, Storypark)

Participate in program planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives

Support team collaboration, mentor students, and contribute to a positive workplace culture

Qualifications & Experience We are looking for candidates who bring:

Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from a recognized institution or equivalent

Membership in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators

Certification with the Association of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario (AECEO)

Experience working with children ages 0–6 (including student placements)

Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH)

Strong understanding of child development, inclusive programming, and positive guidance strategies

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a dynamic environment

Assets:

Knowledge of Anishinaabe culture, teachings, and language

Experience with Storypark or similar documentation tools
