Langley Senior Resources Society is an independent, not-for-profit organization providing recreation, education, and social programs and comprehensive supportive services to seniors in the City and Township of Langley. Programs and services are delivered at our two locations and in partner sites throughout Langley. Our dedicated staff, and over 200 volunteers, serve Langley seniors with heart and compassion every day.
Summary of Role
Working closely with the Executive Director, this role leads fundraising efforts to secure the resources needed to advance our mission. It is a donor-facing role that drives the full fundraising cycle (identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship) of individual donors, grantors, and corporate sponsors. Core responsibilities include executing a multi-level fundraising plan spanning major gifts, legacy gifts, monthly giving, tribute giving, grants, sponsorships, and special campaigns. This is a 4-day per week role with flexibility on hours and days worked.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute a comprehensive annual fundraising plan in alignment with LSRS’s strategic goals and objectives.
Maintain and build positive philanthropic relationships thatresult in meeting or exceeding fundraising goals and outcomes.
Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events.
Manage all deadlines, workflows, and project plans for fundraising activities including:
Budget, plans and briefs, and timelines
Timely collection, tracking, and managing of donor information
Recognition, stewardship and impact reporting
Actively seek to deepen current donor relationships and forge new ones.
Participate in grant program,
including grant applications and tracking grant deliverables.
Inspire, promote, and support LSRS fundraising and marketing initiatives both online and in-person, internal and external to LSRS.
Identify barriers to successful fundraising program execution and escalating as appropriate.
Work with the Marketing team to use impactful storytelling and communications methods to convey the fundraising case to external partners.
Steward and leverage relationships with existing funders.
Track progress and results to demonstrate the impact of philanthropic support and engagement.
Understand all aspects of the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
Contribute to policy and procedure development that reflect ethical fundraising practices.
OTHER DUTIES
Support the day-to-day operations of the Recreation and Resource Centre
Participate in staff team meetings
Support other LSRS program, service activities and events as required
Carry out other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
An unwavering commitment to ethical fundraising principles and practices.
Superior verbal and written communication skills, ability to understand and synthesize complex ideas, and confidently interact with different audiences.
A careful and perceptive listener with an empathetic understanding of funders’needs and interests and energized by the creative challenge of storytelling to engage and motivate supporters.
Self-motivated, organized, systematic and able to prioritize, schedule and perform complex tasks on time and with minimal supervision.
A commitment to data management best practices.
Strong understanding of donor management software; Donor Perfect experience would be an asset.
A positive team player who thrives in a cooperative, cooperative environment.
Demonstrate analytical skills with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
Ability to remain calm and clear in stressful situations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams).
Resourceful, innovative, optimistic, and flexible to embrace new opportunities and the evolving needs of a growing organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 3-5 years of progressive and professional fundraising experience in the charitable sector with strong donor engagement experience.
Proven track record of success with donor prospecting, solicitation, relationship management and stewardship and recognition.
Experience managing a donor pipeline and portfolio of donors, with experience in face-to-face meetings.
Nuanced understanding of the dynamics within the charitable sector.
Experience with data collection, surveys, and program evaluation.
Driver’s license, and access to a reliable motor vehicle with insurance coverage that has no policy restrictions for work related driving.
