Oversee the day-to-day care and maintenance of the entire property, including guestrooms, public areas, restaurants and bars, event spaces and back-of-house areas.
Lead the facilities team from the floor, establishing daily priorities, assigning work and providing hands-on support.
Personally complete a meaningful range of repairs including plumbing, basic electrical, HVAC troubleshooting, drywall, painting, caulking, doors, locks, hardware, furniture, millwork and general building maintenance within appropriate safety and licensing requirements.
Develop and maintain practical preventive maintenance programs, inspections and room or area maintenance schedules.
Identify deficiencies early and ensure repairs are completed before they become larger operational or guest-facing issues.
Monitor and support HVAC systems, boilers, plumbing, electrical systems, building controls, fire and life-safety equipment, elevators, laundry equipment and commercial kitchen systems.
Determine when repairs can be completed safely in-house and when licensed trades or specialized contractors are required.
Source quotes, coordinate vendors and supervise contractors completing repairs, renovations and small capital projects.
Ensure outside contractors understand scope, timing, quality and safety expectations before work begins.
Lead the facilities response to urgent situations including leaks, heating or cooling failures, electrical issues, alarms, equipment breakdowns and other building emergencies.
Maintain accurate work-order, inspection, inventory, vendor and compliance records.
Support purchasing,



budget tracking and practical repair-versus-replace recommendations.
Partner closely with Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage, Events, Security and senior leadership to coordinate maintenance activity with minimal disruption.
Ensure guest-facing repairs are completed to a hospitality standard, with attention to finish, presentation and the surrounding environment.
Maintain strong occupational health and safety, fire and life-safety, environmental and company standards.
Promote safe work practices, appropriate PPE use and accurate incident reporting.
Requirements Minimum five years of progressive experience in hotel engineering, facilities management, commercial building maintenance, property operations or a related environment.
Previous experience leading employees, technicians or daily maintenance activities.
Strong hands-on general building repair capabilities.
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers and fire and life-safety systems.
Experience working within a hotel, restaurant, mixed-use, institutional, multi-residential or other continuously occupied property.
Hospitality or food and beverage facilities experience is considered a strong asset.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes and develop both immediate and permanent solutions.




Experience coordinating contractors, reviewing quotes and overseeing repairs or small projects.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technicians, operational teams, contractors, guests and senior leadership.
Comfortable working with maintenance or work-order software and maintaining accurate documentation.
Knowledge of Ontario occupational health and safety, fire and life-safety and protected maintenance practices.
WHMIS certification, a skilled trade licence, building systems certification or facilities management designation would be considered assets.
Flexibility to support the realities of a hospitality operation, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays and emergency situations.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders and safely lift up to approximately 20 kg.
Valid Ontario driver's licence is considered an asset.
Corporate Culture $72,000 - $78,000 annual salary.
