Description

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and responsible Home Support Worker/Caregiver to provide care and assistance to an adult individual with a disability in Pickering, Ontario. The successful candidate will support the client with daily living activities while promoting their comfort, well-being, and independence in a safe and respectful home setting.

Work in employer’s/client’s home, Public transportation is available, Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is not a condition of employment

Terms of employment: Full time, Permanent

Wage: $21/Hour @ 30 – 44 hours per week

Education: Secondary (high) School Certificate, College or other courses related in home support,



First aid certification is preferred

Work experience: Six months work experience is preferred

Job duties:

- Administer bedside and personal care
- Assist clients in water (i.e. pool)
- Assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk
- Assume full responsibility for household (in absence of householder)
- Feed or assist in feeding
- Change non-sterile dressings
- Shop for food and household supplies
- Provide personal care
- Provide companionship
- Plan therapeutic diets and menus
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
- Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals
