Overview

Part-Time English Teacher/Tutor Wanted – Join Oxford Learning Centres Inc. in St. Catharines, Ontario, and help students thrive in English by teaching up to three students at a time. All lessons are pre‑planned; no lesson‑planning required before class.

Position Requirements

All teacher‑tutors work after‑school, evenings, and Saturday mornings (3:45 pm‑7:15 pm, 9:45 am‑1:15 pm). Commitment to the term through June is preferred; summer continuation is a plus. This is an in‑person role that requires commuting to the St. Catharines location; relocation packages are not available.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification an asset
- Knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum

Experience

- Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students’ understanding




- Ability to multitask and balance work with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities

- Teach up to three students at a time at different levels
- Deliver lessons in‑person (and online when required)
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Fill in post‑lesson notes
- Update daily student communication
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times

Job Type & Salary

Part‑time – hourly rate of $19 per hour.

Schedule

- Evenings (Monday to Friday)
