**Material Handler / Shipper and Receiver (Day Shift)**
**Job Description**
This role focuses on shipping, receiving, and material handling within a small warehouse environment dedicated to assembling high-efficiency transformer units and power distribution solutions.

You will spend a significant portion of your day operating a counterbalance forklift and the remainder performing order picking, receiving, and verifying shipments, while using basic computer applications and ERP systems to support accurate inventory and order management.
**Responsibilities**
Receive incoming orders and shipments, verify quantities and documentation, and ensure materials are accurately logged into the system.

Pick and prepare orders for shipment in an efficient and organized manner, following established procedures and project requirements.

Operate a counterbalance forklift safely and effectively for approximately 40%–60% of the workday to move, load, and unload materials.

Handle materials throughout the warehouse, including staging, organizing, and replenishing inventory to support assembly operations.

Use ERP systems and basic MS Office applications to record transactions, track inventory, and maintain accurate shipping and receiving records.

Work collaboratively in team settings to support the assembly of power distribution units, coordinating material flow to meet project timelines.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety guidelines and equipment handling procedures.

Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding material discrepancies, shipment issues, or inventory concerns.

Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline material handling, shipping, and receiving processes.
**Essential Skills**
At least 2 years of experience operating a counterbalance forklift.

At least 2 years of experience operating a raymond reach forklift.

Active forklift certification and license with demonstrated safe operating practices.

Minimum 1 year of experience using ERP systems in a warehouse, shipping, or inventory management environment.

Experience in shipping and receiving functions, including order verification and documentation.

Hands-on experience as a material handler in a warehouse or distribution setting.

Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office applications.

Ability to work effectively in teams and in close quarters while handling materials and supporting assembly work.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking, inventory tracking, and shipment verification.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Experience with inventory management processes and procedures.

Comfort working with power distribution or industrial equipment components in a warehouse setting.

Ability to adapt to project-based work in a dedicated warehouse space.





Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting issues.

Reliability and punctuality for a consistent day shift schedule, Monday to Friday.

**Work Environment**
This position operates on a day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, in a small warehouse rented specifically for a focused project.

The facility is organized to make material handling and assembly work quick and efficient, with all necessary materials provided and well arranged.

You will work closely with a team to assemble power distribution units, so comfort with teamwork and working in close quarters is important.

The warehouse has good lighting, though the environment can be a bit dusty at times, and work is performed in typical warehouse attire suitable for material handling and forklift operation
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brampton, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
