**Job Title: Production Associate**
**Job Description**
This role supports the manufacturing of industrial packaging solutions by assisting machine operators with material handling and product stacking.

You work on the production floor, ensuring machines are consistently supplied with materials and finished products are properly organized.

The position involves repetitive tasks and requires you to be comfortable standing and moving throughout the entire shift in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
**Responsibilities**
Support machine operators by bringing materials to feed various production machines and equipment.

Stack, organize, and move finished products from production lines to designated areas in a safe and efficient manner.

Perform general labour tasks, including lifting, carrying, and positioning materials and products, often up to 50 lbs.

Use basic hand and power tools as needed, such as hammers, nail pullers, tape measures, drills, sawzalls, and pneumatic tools.

Assist with production activities that may include machine operation, assembly work, construction-style tasks, and wood working processes.

Follow established safety procedures and guidelines while working around machinery, wood materials, and production equipment.

Maintain a clean and orderly work area, managing wood debris and dust to help keep the facility generally clean and safe.

Communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing, to understand instructions, safety information, and production requirements.

Adapt to rotating day and afternoon shifts and be available for overtime at the start or end of scheduled shifts when required.

Work collaboratively with approximately 70 colleagues across both shifts in a unionized manufacturing environment.
**Essential Skills**
Ability to comfortably stand and perform repetitive tasks for a full shift in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ability to lift and handle materials and products weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.

General labour experience in environments such as manufacturing, machine operation, assembly, construction, or wood working.

Experience working in production or manufacturing settings, with familiarity around industrial machinery.

Basic proficiency with hand and power tools, including hammers, nail pullers, tape measures (including millimetres), drills, sawzalls, and pneumatic tools.

High school diploma or equivalent level of education.

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal, to follow instructions and safety procedures.

Reliability and flexibility to work rotating day and afternoon shifts and occasional overtime.

Capability to work safely in a loud setting with wood materials and some dust present.
**Work Environment**
You work in a loud,



industrial manufacturing facility that primarily handles wood-based materials, so some areas may have light dust while remaining generally clean and well-maintained.

The workplace is unionized and production-focused, with approximately 70 employees across day and afternoon shifts.

You may work around a variety of equipment, including panel saws, 3-axis CNC machines, presses, robotic arms, and flexographic machines.

The schedule follows a bi-weekly rotating shift pattern, with days running from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and afternoons from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., and overtime may be offered either 1.5 hours before or 2 hours after regular shifts.

Access to personal transportation is strongly recommended due to shift times and local bus routes.

Standard manufacturing attire is expected, with safety footwear and safety glasses required, supported by allowances once you become a full-time permanent employee.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Peterborough, ON.
**Pay and Advantages**
The pay range for this position is $19.57 - $20.32/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
