**Job Title: Construction Plumber (Apprentice or Journeyperson)**
**Job Description**
This role focuses on plumbing work for commercial retrofit and multifamily new-build construction projects.
You will primarily install drainage systems at the outset, with opportunities to contribute to a variety of institutional, commercial, and multi-family residential projects in both new construction and tenant improvement settings.
**Responsibilities**
Install, repair, and maintain drainage systems and other plumbing components on commercial retrofit and multifamily new-build projects.
Perform plumbing work on a mix of recent build and tenant improvement or upgrade projects for institutional, commercial, and multi-family residential facilities.
Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and project documentation to complete plumbing installations accurately and safely.
Work effectively on active construction sites, coordinating with field teams and other trades to ensure smooth project execution.
Participate in pull planning activities to help schedule and sequence work efficiently (for roles where pull planning experience is required).
Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment, applying training such as CSTS, First Aid, Fall Protection, and AWP/EWP certifications.
Operate within defined shift schedules, including standard weekday shifts in Edmonton and extended shifts in Jasper, while managing overtime in accordance with project needs.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure that tools, materials, and equipment are used and stored properly.
Communicate clearly with supervisors and colleagues to report progress, issues, and safety concerns in a timely manner.
**Essential Skills**
Registered 2nd-year or higher Apprentice Plumber or certified Journeyperson Plumber.
Experience in residential plumbing, with consideration for candidates who have strong commercial construction plumbing experience.
Demonstrated ability to perform plumbing work on commercial retrofit and multifamily new-build construction projects.
Valid driver's license.
CSTS (Construction Safety Training System) certification.
First Aid certification.
Fall Protection (Fall Pro) ticket.
AWP/EWP (Aerial Work Platform/Elevated Work Platform) ticket.
Ability to work regular weekday shifts in Edmonton or extended 10-days-on/4-days-off rotations in Jasper.
Capability to work 8–10 hour days and manage overtime after 44 hours per week in accordance with project requirements.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Experience with Procore construction management software (required for designated roles).
Pull planning experience, including participation in collaborative scheduling sessions (required for designated roles).
Boiler experience and familiarity with mechanical room installation work.
Comfort working on institutional, commercial, and multi-family residential projects, including both new builds and tenant improvements.
Willingness to work out of town on projects such as Jasper, including staying in camp-style accommodations.
Interest in contract-to-hire opportunities or longer-term contracts of at least six months, depending on work availability.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is field-focused, with a strong emphasis on supporting tradespeople on active construction sites.
In Edmonton, typical shifts run Monday to Friday starting around 7:00 a.m., with 8–9 hour days and overtime after 44 hours per week.
Work consists of a mix of new-build and tenant improvement or upgrade projects across institutional, commercial, and multi-family residential settings.
For projects in Jasper, you will work a 10-days-on/4-days-off rotation, with 10-hour days from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and overtime after 44 hours per week.
While working out of town in Jasper, you will stay in camp accommodations arranged by the general contractor, which may include kitchen trailers with shared bathrooms or sleeper trailers with individual bathrooms, and you will receive a daily per diem.
The environment is professional, safety-conscious, and geared toward enabling field staff to perform quality work with reliable tools, materials, and support.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Edmonton, AB.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $41.07 - $41.07/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
