**Position Description**
As a Housekeeping Aide, you will
maintain an environment that is clean, safe and comfortable.

You will promote a high standard of customer service.

You will also perform environmental services duties by following procedures and work assignments.

Although this posting indicates an initial area of assignment and shift, the Hospital reserves the right to assign to other areas of assignment and shifts as deemed necessary.
**Shifts:**
**_Saturday, Sunday & Stat Holidays 10:00am-6:00pm Waste Handler_**
**Here's what you'll get to do**
Responsible for the overall environmental services duties of the hospital by ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is maintained as follows: Sweeps, dust mops, damp mops, wet mops, high dusts and vacuums floors, stairwells and corridors.

Maintains floors with the use of floor polishers,



scrubs and when required resurfacing floors.

Washes walls, vents, windows, ceiling and light fixtures using cleaning solutions and equipment.

Cleans and replenishes supplies in washroomson a daily basis.

Moves furniture as requiredin order tomaintain proper cleaning of area.

Change privacy and window drapery.

Shampoos and extracts carpets and upholstery.

Collects refuse and soiled linen.

Disinfects all horizontal and vertical surfaces; polishes and maintains all metal surfaces with the appropriate cleaning solutions.

Prepares patient discharge rooms as per procedure.

Prepares bedding i.e.

Dr's Quarters.

Returns soiled mops and other equipment i.e.

Housekeeping cart, auto scrubber, burnisher etc. issued to the department upon completion of use.

Cleans equipment Housekeeping cart, auto scrubber, burnisher etc. daily after use and returns equipment to the utility closet at the end of each shift.

Ensures the utility closet is maintained tidy.
**Here's what you'll need**
Grade 10 or equivalent
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment and able to perform work that is physical in nature, such as standing, bending, twisting, reaching, etc.

Ability to coordinate, prioritize and assign tasks to other team members to ensure customer service needs are being met.

Must be able to communicate both verbally and written in English.

Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment, with a high focus on customer service satisfaction.
