Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the Machinist

Helperassistsand learnsfrom an experienced CNCMachinist.

The Machinist Helper will learn tooperatemilling machines, lathes, grinders, sanders,and other various machining tools,aswell as assist in the repair and maintenance of machining equipmentaccording to company plans,blueprintsand other diagrams.

Assistwith set up, operationandmaintaininga variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planning, drilling, precisiongrindingand other operations.

Read and interpret blueprints/drawings

Assistin the maintenance and repair of machining equipment

Assistwith detectingequipment malfunctions and adjust machines

Computer skills withproficiencyin Microsoft Office

Comply withcompany ISO qualityprogramand procedures, companypoliciesand safety regulations.





Assistwithmaintaininginspection records andcompletionofinspection reports.

Maintain up to date knowledge of industry standards and practices.

Perform other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GEDPreviousexperiencein welding and fabrication would be considered an asset

Physical ability to lift 50 pounds

Must be able to communicate effectively with others and be able to work in a team

Ability to follow written instructions, standard operating procedures, and pre-defined guidelines to execute and perform the functions of the job.

Demonstrate attention to detail skills.

Must be able to work in a rapid paced,shop productionenvironment

Experience working in an ISO 9001 environmentwould be consideredan asset
