Contribute to the protection of the sacred Salmon as a Fish Monitor for Xaxli’p. This seasonal role requires patrolling traditional fishing grounds and enforcing fishing laws through professional communication.

Xaxli’p is seeking six Fish Monitors to patrol fishing stations along the Fraser River. Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidates will interact with fishermen and uphold fishing regulations. This role requires physical fitness and the ability to handle outdoor conditions while ensuring compliance with traditional fishing laws.

Key Responsibilities: • Patrol Xaxli’p Traditional Fishing Stations • Report violations of fishing laws promptly • Issue verbal warnings to violators professionally

Requirements: • Security training is an asset • Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle • Physical fitness for trail climbing and equipment handling • Flexibility to work wide-ranging hours • Criminal record check required upon hire
