Element Toronto is currently looking for a Chemist II - E&L; + Pharma Chemistry) to join our growing team in Mississauga.

The main responsibilities of the Chemist II are to evaluate the chemical and physical properties of various organic and/or inorganic substances, utilizing established methods, procedures, and laboratory equipment to perform analytical testing.

The Chemist II will also conduct method validation and support method development, interpret data, and develop conclusions based on the results obtained.

Additionally, the Chemist II will participate in failure investigations and deviations and support the production of client reports and quotes.$26.40-$28.80CAD/hr DOETypically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Works with direct manager and colleagues, taking regular direction from manager and more senior colleagues.

Communicates status of work daily and collaborates with team.

Can train more junior colleagues.

Handles routine matters and problems, escalates moderately complex or complicated issues to others.

Strong focus on single processes or multiple tasks that are closely related to a single process.

Solid understanding of various compounds, reagents, and solutions

Ability to conduct analysis through approximately 25%-50% of the methods/techniques/equipment available in the department without guidance.

Serves as an SME in at least one area for the lab

Good time management and prioritization

Intermediate reading, writing, and math skills

Solid attention to detail

Good interpersonal skills

Ability to plan daily work and arrange activities to meet deadlines.

Follows instructions, both written and verbal and able to provide clear instruction to others.

Good critical thinking skills

Ability to work in a team environment.





Ability to draft technical reports without guidance.

Basic understanding of cost control measures and how 5S and SQDC principals impact lab flow.

Bachelor''s degree or Diploma in analytical chemistry or life sciences (microbiology, etc.)2-5 Years Relevant Experience

Physical Requirements: Lifting up to 40 pounds on occasion
