The ALTO project is a major infrastructure initiative in Canadian history, aimed at developing over 1,000 km of new passenger rail service between major urban centers, including Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City.
Support the Project Management Office (PMO) in analyzing and improving the performance of its business needs, including the validation, cleansing, and transformation of data.
Ensure the consistency, integrity, and standardization of project financial data to meet the PMO's weekly requirements.
Design, develop, and enhance analyses, models, and datasets.
Automate processes and promote data management best practices using tools such as Power
Query and Power Automate, as well as other data engineering or data science tools as needed.
Collaborate on the integration of current data sources, whether structured or unstructured, and contribute to the evolution of the analytics ecosystem.
Document, industrialize, and operationalize the analyses and solutions delivered.
Support the development of financial analyses and key performance indicators (KPIs) for PMO management and project teams.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data needs and propose appropriate solutions.
Ensure the documentation and traceability of processes and data flows to facilitate auditing and maintenance.
Optimize existing tools (Excel, Share
Point, etc.) to improve team efficiency and data quality.
Education: Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree considered an asset) in business analytics,
business intelligence, finance, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Years of experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Technical skills: Excellent command of Excel, including advanced functions, formulas, and analytics.
Strong skills in data management, structuring, and quality assurance.
Good understanding of data modeling and data manipulation concepts (SQL, Python, or equivalent tools).
Proficiency in Power Query and Power Automate.
Interest in or knowledge of finance, organizational performance, or financial processes.
Experience producing reports for the Project Management Office (PMO) and Project Management teams.
