This one-year internship is designed for recent graduates eager to start their careers in archives, records management, or cultural heritage. Under the guidance of experienced Archivists, you will engage in archival processing, digitization, and documentation practices. This role also emphasizes community-focused initiatives that highlight the rich culture of the Métis Nation of Ontario.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process archival materials through sorting, arranging, and labelling
• Create metadata for archival management systems
• Participate in digitization activities and quality control
• Provide reference support for staff and community members
• Monitor the condition of archival materials and support preservation
Requirements:
• College diploma with less than 1 year of experience
• Experience in archives, libraries, or cultural heritage roles
• Familiarity with digital tools and archival systems
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Understanding of archival principles and practices
