Eager to help students turn “Je ne sais pas” into “Oh la la”? Motivated to help support children’s French education outside of the classroom? Join the team at Oxford Learning Brampton Ebenezer as a part‑time French teacher/tutor/coach. We teach students how to learn French in a small group setting with a maximum of three students per teacher. We provide all of the curriculum and lessons; teachers do not need to lesson plan.

Position Requirements

All teacher‑tutors work during after‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (10:00 am – 3:00 pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better. Candidates must possess a robust background in spoken and written French and English and be comfortable teaching up to Grade 9 level (up to Grade 12 preferred). The role is in‑person; relocation packages are not available.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification an asset
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 French core curriculum

Experience

- Some experience teaching/tutoring French at a Grade 9‑12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills




- Strong French skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities

- Teach up to three students at different levels
- Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times

$19 – $22 per hour

Schedule

- Evenings
- Monday to Thursday, 4 pm – 7 pm (alternating days)
