Gardiner Park Child-Care Inc. is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Temporary Cook to join our team and cover a medical leave for approximately 4 months.

Position Details
Position: Temporary Childcare Cook
Duration: Approximately 4 months
Hours: Monday–Friday 7:00am-3:00pm
Start Date: Tuesday, September 8th, 2026
Location: Gardiner Park Child-Care Inc.

Responsibilities
Prepare and serve nutritious, well-balanced meals and snacks for the children.
Follow our centre's menu and accommodate children's dietary restrictions and allergies.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
Complete daily kitchen cleaning and sanitation duties.
Maintain accurate food and kitchen supply inventories and communicate when supplies need to be ordered.
Work cooperatively with the childcare team.
Ensure meals and snacks are prepared and served according to the centre's schedule.
Follow all applicable childcare licensing, health, and food-safety requirements.

Qualifications




Previous cooking experience is preferred.
Experience working in a childcare, school, healthcare, or similar setting is an asset.
Food safety training/certification is a MUST.
Must be dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
Must be comfortable working in a busy childcare environment.
Must be able to follow allergy and dietary requirements carefully.
A clear criminal record check/vulnerable sector check and other required childcare documentation will be required.
