Overview
The Safety Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all company operations adhere to established safety standards and regulations. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies to create a secure working environment for all employees. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, robust knowledge of safety protocols, and a proactive approach to hazard prevention. This position is essential in promoting a safety-first culture within the organization and maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities
Conduct regular safety inspections across all departments to identify potential hazards.
Develop and update safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Provide safety training sessions for recent hires and ongoing education for existing staff.
Investigate accidents or incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and conduct drills.
Stay informed about changes in safety laws and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
Promote a culture of safety awareness through communication and leadership.
Skills
Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
Excellent communication skills to effectively train staff and report findings.
Analytical mindset with the ability to identify hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for recordkeeping and documentation.
Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Prior experience in safety management or compliance roles is preferred.
