Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry or related fields and a passion for working with children.

As a Cook, you will prepare nutritious lunch and snacks for the children in our care. Responsibilities include:
Shop and Order fresh ingredients and kitchen supplies within budgetary constraints, maintaining inventory and ensuring timely delivery.
Collaborate with the supervisor to develop nutritious, healthy and balanced menu based on Canada's food guide ,weekly menu rotations and adjust as necessary.
Preparing and serving meals to all children in care, accomodating all dietary restrictions, allergies and cultural considerations.
Ensuring safety and sanitization in the kitchen environment as per Public Health requirements, including temperature monitoring and protected food storage.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including equipment, appliances, and storage areas.
Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and supervisors regarding menu changes, dietary concerns, and kitchen updates.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.

· Diploma in nutrition or food preparation- preferred.





· Valid Standard First Aid & CPR – Level C Certificate.

· Safe Food Handling Certificate.

· Valid Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months.

· Access to a reliable automobile for grocery shopping preferred.

Compensation:
Total compensation includes competitive salary, health and dental advantages, life insurance, additional paid vacation in addition to ESA, paid personal days, paid sick days, paid time for 2 weeks of Winter break at Christmas, , Paid First Aid & CPR training, paid PD prospects.
