We are seeking a dependable and organized Cook to oversee the day-to-day operation of our retirement residence kitchen. The successful candidate will help ensure residents receive safe, nutritious, and enjoyable meals while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, organization, and service.

The successful candidate will be comfortable preparing meals for seniors, following established menus and dietary requirements, and maintaining a clean and secure kitchen workplace.

Responsibilities
Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks according to established menus and schedules
Ensure food is prepared, handled, stored, and served safely
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and dining area
Monitor food temperatures and complete required kitchen documentation
Follow infection prevention, workplace safety, and food-handling procedures
Complete all required onboarding and recurring workplace training




Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements
Must hold a valid Safe Food Handler Certificate or be willing to obtain one
Comfortable preparing meals for seniors and following specific dietary instructions
Dependable, qualified, and punctual
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Able to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties of the position
Willing and able to complete all required onboarding and recurring training
Must be able to reliably commute to the residence for all scheduled shifts
