About the Opportunity
Our client, a highly regarded national law firm, is seeking a Labour and Employment Lawyer to join its practice group in Toronto. This is an excellent chance to work on sophisticated and complex labour and employment law matters for a diverse client base that includes leading Canadian and international organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Advise clients on a variety of employment and labour law matters, including workplace policies, employment agreements, terminations, accommodations, human rights issues, workplace investigations, and regulatory compliance.
Represent clients in employment-related disputes, mediations, negotiations, hearings, arbitrations, and litigation matters.
Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, briefs, opinions, motions, and other legal documentation.
Provide practical, strategic, and business-focused legal advice tailored to client objectives.
Manage files independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues across the firm.
Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
Qualifications
Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
Minimum of 5 years of employment and labour law experience gained at a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal department of a large organization.
Experience advising either employer-side or employee-side clients. Exposure to both is considered an asset.
Strong advocacy, negotiation, legal research, and drafting skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proven ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong judgment, professionalism, and client-service orientation.
