Journeyperson Carpenters and Apprentices

Requirements

Available to work weekends, nights, and out of town as needed.

Knowledge of commercial construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, and safety.

Proficient at: wood backing, framing, hanging doors, drilling and setting door hardware, setting windows, layout for stairs and common rafters, reading blueprints, utilizing appropriate math skills.

Learn and actively practice essential carpentry skills on the job.

Maintain a safe work environment.

Set up and maintain tools for your supervising carpenter.

Own transportation, valid driver's license with satisfactory driver's abstract.

Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail.

Productive in a team environment.

Ability to operate a skid steer and rough terrain forklift is considered an asset.

This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a construction work environment. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Essential physical requirements include:

Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to accurately measure, cut, fit, and finish materials.

Physical capability to lift, carry, push, pull, and position materials, and to perform tasks while standing, kneeling, bending, crouching, or working overhead for extended periods.

Able to work at varying heights, including the use of ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms.

Capacity to work in confined or awkward positions, in a range of environmental conditions, including outdoor and variable weather conditions.

Able to safely and efficiently operate hand tools and power tools for prolonged periods.

Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend and crouch frequently.
