Job Overview As a Field Service Technician II with BearCom, you will be responsible for the installation and support of wireless communications systems. Your role involves creating mid-level programming codeplugs, installing and servicing wireless communications equipment, recommending equipment that meets customer requirements, and occasionally traveling regionally or working on-call hours.
Responsibilities Create Mid-Level Programming Codeplugs (12+ Channels, Trunking, Multiple Zones)
Install and Service Wireless Communications Equipment (UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz Systems, Dispatch Consoles, BDA/DAS Systems, Microwave Systems, Wireless Broadband Devices, CCTV Equipment)
Recommend Appropriate Equipment and Hardware that meets Customer Requirements
Travel Regional and/or Overnight and be available for On-Call Hours as required
Preferred Qualifications Proficient Electronics Background
Experience in Diagnosing, Repairing, Programming, and Installing RF Equipment
Understanding of Two-Way Radio Theory and RF Propagation Characteristics at various Frequency Bands
Competent Operating Test Equipment (Communications Service Monitors, Wattmeters, TDRs, FDRs, Multimeters)
IP Networking Experience
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Valid Driver’s License
Drug Screening, Motor Vehicle Record, and Background Checks are part of the hiring process
Qualifications 3+ years of Service Technician experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, installing and commissioning video and access control type systems
Good base knowledge of networks and electronic systems
Read basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures
Proficiency in operating various test equipment including utility software applications, network testers, and multi-meters
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel)
Active or former Alarm License certification
Hold one or more computer or computer networking certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, ETA-I CST, NCT, ICT, NST, WNT, Cisco CCNA or prerequisite Cisco certification)
Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent, or military training in electronics (preferred)
Preferred experience with Avigilon or similar video and access control security systems
Security Clearance preferred
Team driven individual in dynamic work workplace, self-driven to perform even without outside direction
Proof of vaccination against Covid-19 virus unless medical or religious exemption applies
Valid Drivers license
Drug screenings and background checks part of hiring process
