Make a difference as a First Nation Education Advocate at Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in in Dawson, Yukon. This role focuses on supporting First Nations youth academically and emotionally.
Under the guidance of the HätrʼunohtänZho Manager, you will provide crucial support to K-12 students who need additional assistance. Your responsibilities include acting as a liaison between homes and schools, promoting student participation and academic success. You'll guide students through required curricula and online courses offered by Yukon University.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support First Nations youth academically and socially
• Liaise between home and school for student well-being
• Assist students with required curriculum completion
• Develop programs catering to educational needs
• Manage case work and administrative tasks
Requirements:
• Grade 12 with relevant diploma or equivalent experience
• Robust support skills for K-12 academic needs
• Knowledge of First Nations culture and values
• Experience with children in academic settings
• Ability to manage conflicts effectively
