Become a Cultural Program Coordinator with MKO in Thompson, Manitoba, ensuring culturally grounded initiatives for Indigenous healing. Utilize your knowledge of Indigenous practices to support community wellness and justice.
In this full-time position, you will lead culturally responsive programming under the Gladue Pathways initiative. Your role focuses on integrating Indigenous knowledge into healing plans, mentoring individuals in the justice system, and promoting community partnerships. You’ll ensure that traditions and values from 26 First Nations inform all aspects of programming and support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate culturally grounded programming for Healing & Wellness Plans
• Facilitate traditional teachings and cultural activities
• Build relationships within the justice system and communities
• Promote resilience and belonging through trauma-informed approaches
• Identify gaps in services and develop necessary support programs
Requirements:
• Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and community protocols
• Experience with mentoring and facilitating cultural activities
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
