Join CMHA Peel Dufferin as a Mental Health Crisis Worker and actively support individuals in crisis. Leverage your skills in mental wellness intervention and community collaboration.

In this role, you'll play a critical part in responding to mental health crises, providing stabilization, and developing action plans for recovery. Successful candidates will have experience in crisis intervention, risk assessments, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Your role includes mobile responses with police and follow-ups for continuous care and support.

Key Responsibilities:
• Respond to crisis situations via telephone and in-person
• Conduct mental status examinations and safety assessments




• Form alliances with hospitals and law enforcement for crisis response
• Develop intervention strategies for those affected by mental illness
• Participate in community meetings to enhance service delivery

Requirements:
• Degree in Social Work, Nursing, or Counseling
• At least 3 years in the mental health field
• Knowledge of crisis theory and suicide prevention
• Ability to communicate with diverse cultural groups
• Access to a vehicle and valid driver’s license
