Millar Western’s Whitecourt Pulp Mill is seeking a Journeyperson Millwright with a minimum of five years of industrial maintenance experience working with rotating equipment. This individual will play a critical role in maximizing equipment reliability and minimizing plant downtime through the execution and continuous improvement of the predictive maintenance program within their assigned area.

Key responsibilities include:

Performing inspections, troubleshooting, and precision repairs of rotating equipment including pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors, and gearboxes.

Conducting oil sampling, and condition monitoring activities to identify potential equipment failures before they occur.

Rebuilding and overhauling rotating equipment while ensuring alignment, balancing, and installation best practices are followed.

Collaborating with operators, planners, supervisors, and maintenance trades to plan and execute reliability improvement initiatives.

Maintaining accurate equipment history, condition monitoring records, and predictive maintenance reports.

Supporting planned shutdowns, outage work, and continuous improvement projects focused on plant reliability and maintenance excellence.

The ideal candidate
Preference will be given to a Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright with experience in a heavy industrial maintenance environment. Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting skills, a solid understanding of rotating equipment reliability principles, and experience with predictive maintenance technologies. Heavy Duty Mechanic certification or experience would be considered an asset,



as would experience in the pulp and paper, forestry, mining, or manufacturing sectors. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment focused on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
