St. Joseph's is a leading teaching hospital with a focus on excellent care, academic teaching and research. An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and engaging leader. The successful candidate will be accountable for operational leadership of an inpatient unit within the Complex Care Program.
Reporting to the Director of Complex Care, the Clinical Manager utilizes clinical leadership skills to ensure the highest quality of patient care through planning, day to day operational management, and coordination of human and physical resources. Your proven leadership skills promote frontline accountability, innovation and the development of high performing teams. You are a self-directed individual with demonstrated strengths in quality improvement, staff engagement and establishing collaborative partnerships. Your leadership style is recognized as harmonious with and reflective of the values of St. Joseph's Health Care.
The Complex Care Program comprises an inpatient palliative care unit and two units providing medically complex care. The 18-bed Palliative Care unit provides pain and symptom management and end of life care for those experiencing life limiting illness. The 71 bed Medically Complex Service provides care to patients who require ongoing medical management as well as rehabilitation following a major medical event, accident or illness. We provide support to individuals with a range of chronic complex conditions including designated beds for patient's requiring chronic ventilator support and residential medically complex care. The goal of the Complex Care unit is to return individuals to the community; either to their home or to a long-term care setting.
Essential Qualifications Baccalaureate Degree in nursing or an allied health profession
Current registration with relevant professional college
Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA




Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA
Demonstrated leadership skills including team development, change management, staff engagement and conflict management
Strong critical thinking and problem solving with exceptional facilitation and coaching skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Previous experience in leadership with a demonstrated ability to create a high-performance culture
Solid knowledge and understanding of legislation related to Employment, People & Financial Management
Demonstrated experience in program development, quality improvement, and project management
Previous experience with a complex medical, neurological, palliative and respiratory/long term care population
Demonstrated organizational and computer skills
Demonstrated skills in budget and business planning
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a wide range of professionals
Ability to promote the values of shared leadership and interdisciplinary team collaboration
Evidence of ongoing professional development in leadership/clinical best practices
In addition, the successful candidate will possess solid leadership capabilities including leading self, engage others, achieve results, develop coalition, system transformation
Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in a health-related field
LEAN training
Proficiency in French would be an asset
Demonstrated interest and experience in research and program evaluation
Previous experience in a unionized environment

Immunization Requirements Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
